About therapeutic assessment
Therapeutic psychological evaluations are more than just a simple screening questionnaire or two. Rather, they provide a deep exploration of patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving that relate to one’s overall mental health, ways of being in relationships, self-concept, core beliefs, and overall adjustment. For example, rather than just explaining that someone “has anxiety,” this kind of psychological evaluation aims to answer questions about the quality of the anxiety, when and why it appears, and the story behind it. Many, though not all, questions can be answered by psychological testing. Prior to beginning the testing process, we will help you determine whether psychological testing is an appropriate fit for the questions you have.
